Involvement in NXIVM

[edit]

Any additions to the article concerning her involvement with NXIVM need to be well-sourced and worded per WP:BLP. I've already removed unsourced speculative and inflammatory language in the Sara Bronfman article. freshacconci (✉) 21:21, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 24 July 2018

[edit]

Add mention of Clare Bronfman's arrest on July 24 on charges of racketeering conspiracy, per https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/national-international/Heiress-to-Seagrams-Liquor-Fortune-Arrested-in-Alleged-NXIVM-Sex-Trafficking-Cult-Case-489013661.html Randomunusedusername (talk) 17:15, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CRIMINAL applies here for a WP:BLP article and there's no need to go rushing into adding this right now. She was just charged and the larger implications are unknown and we wait until outside sources deal with it beyond just mentioning it as a fact. freshacconci (✉) 18:25, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Informationectomy and referencectomy

[edit]

In this edit another contributor removed meaningful information and a valid reference with a laconic "remove minutae" in their edit summary. I don't think that is sufficient explanation. Geo Swan (talk) 16:57, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Swan, I had three problems with the sentence you added. First, I don't think it's important enough to be included. Second, it is poorly structured and contains too many commas. Third, it uses the word "cult." While I believe NXIVM (and the sordid secret club of women associated with it) to be a cult, I also believe that the encyclopedia should either qualify that assertion (e.g. "purported cult," etc.) or simply use the organization's name to keep things NPOV. If the second and third problems were fixed, I could probably be persuaded to back off on the first. Hope that helps. SunCrow (talk) 17:01, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, it's a criminal nut-cult. She's been convicted and is awaiting sentencing. Get over yourself.
The preceding comment is not a convincing argument. Also, please sign your comments: it's not clear who this comment came from. Thank you. Chillowack (talk) 21:45, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just curious, is she related to Barbara Bronfman who bankrolled Ira Einhorn? 173.72.157.183 (talk) 20:58, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
