Herzog

[edit]

On October 15, in an interview with CNN, President Isaac Herzog revealed the document "The Captive Kidnapping Plan", found on the body of one of the terrorists, which details the instructions given to the terrorists on how to act when kidnapping the hostages. Among the trainings it is stated that the kidnappers must create chaos and intimidation through coercion and blindfolding of the captives, the use of electric shocks and the execution of any person who may pose a threat or distraction. The captors were also instructed to use the captives as cannon fodder if necessary. Also, in a method similar to the terrorist organization ISIS, the terrorists were required to record their actions live, and during the IDF attacks to execute the captives.

update

[edit]

Two collectors and Elikim Liebman were considered kidnapped. It was announced that the remains of their bodies were found. Eliakim Liebman served as a security guard at the Nova party. After the murderous attack began, Liebman worked to save many from the nova. He assisted in evacuating the victims to the PAK area near which an ambulance was stationed with a medical team that treated the victims. Quite a few injured people were evacuated into the ambulance, some lying or sitting next to it. After the Hamas terrorists identified the ambulance and contrary to the art of combat, they fired an RPG missile at the ambulance. The ambulance was badly damaged and started to catch fire. The occupants of the ambulance as well as the victims who were lying nearby were hit by the rocket fire. Because of the severe damage to the ambulance, it was difficult to collect evidence of who was inside the ambulance and next to it. The process of identifying the victims in the ambulance and nearby was long and complex. For example, it was only after more than forty days that the body of Shani Gabai, who was buried in another grave, was located and identified. In May 2024, the remains of Liebman's body were found, buried with Victoria Gorlov, who she and her partner Alex Smoilov also served as security guards at the party and were murdered.

Hostage account of Yocheved Lifshitz

[edit]

The sources cited in the hostage account of Yocheved Lifshitz do not correspond to what is written.

How she actually summarized her stay in Gaza as a hostage was so:

“They were very generous to us, very kind. They kept us clean,” Lifshitz said. “They took care of every detail. There are a lot of women and they know about feminine hygiene and they took care of everything there.” See the source: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/24/middleeast/israel-hostages-freed-lifshitz-cooper-intl-hnk/index.html

"I went through hell" is about her talking about the attack on October 7th and her kidnapping.

Also see this source (https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20231024-freed-israeli-says-beaten-by-abductors-then-well-treated-in-gaza):

"I went through hell," Lifshitz said in comments translated by her daughter at the entrance to the hospital where she was being treated.

"The guys beat me on the way. They didn't break my ribs but hurt me there very much."

In Gaza, Lifshitz said she was taken into a network of Hamas tunnels.

"We went underground and walked for kilometres (miles) in wet tunnels, for two or three hours in a spider web of tunnels," she recounted.

Lifshitz said she had been left in a hall with about 25 other hostages and then taken to a separate room with four other people from Nir Oz, where she was placed on a mattress.

"They treated us well," she told reporters, saying a doctor visited the hostages every two to three days and provided medicine.

"They treated us gently, and provided all our needs," she said, when asked by a journalist why she shook hands with a masked Hamas militant as she was being released.

The toilets were cleaned every day, Lifshitz said, adding Hamas guards feared an outbreak of disease.

She described her captors as "very friendly" and "very courteous". Stefano1108 (talk) 10:34, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Teleprompter

[edit]

@Galamore: In your last edit you restored some content, and the resulting sentence reads On April 24, 2024, Hamas had released a two-minute video of Hersch Goldberg-Polin in which read from a teleprompter. Ignoring the grammatical and syntax errors, the source cited says this: The video was likely made under duress, and Mr Goldberg-Polin appeared sickly, pale and thin as he read at least part of his statement from a teleprompter. That implies that he did read from a teleprompter, but it uses "at least part" to suggest that it is not certain he read the entire statement this way, like we are asserting he did. This seems like an assumption from the Telegraph, and as such, it should be attributed instead of presenting it as a fact in wiki voice. Are there any other sources saying this? - Ïvana (talk) 19:46, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
