– The following documents above have the names 'national flag bearers' at the end, while the newer documents from 2008 having 'Parade of Nations'. This means the two names are mixing in Wikipedia, and this will confuse the readers of Wikipedia. The newer documents use the names 'Parade of Nations', so I request the following documents to match the titles to the documents from the 2008 Summer Olympics. Relist note: all proposed titles were significantly altered at 09:45 on 22 September 2021 (UTC), so this move request should extend at least seven more days from that timestamp. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 13:11, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to see it in the style like: 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony – Parade of Nations. Like the the same priciple as all the Olympic sport events pages. I will explain with a example:
That the Parade of Nations is part of the Opening ceremony is also in, for instance, the title of the French wikipedia fr:Liste des porte-drapeaux à la cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux olympiques d'été de 2020. And in the template: Template:2020 Summer Olympics it's behind the Opening Ceremony between brackets because it is part of it.
And a question: are capital letters in "Parade of Nations" necessary? SportsOlympic (talk) 14:56, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For the “opening ceremony - Parade of Nations” style, I agree with it.
For your question, if you do a quick search for the event, all pages are stylized as “Parade of Nations”, so I think it should be necessary. Sjkim04 (talk) 03:01, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if we're going to stylize the titles with 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony – Parade of Nations, we will have to request all the current Olympics' Parade of Nations pages with this one. I think we can perform these after this request is closed unless we can change the request now. Sjkim04 (talk) 03:11, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Changed the style to the proposed ones. I will request for approval. —Sjkim04 (TC) 09:45, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Sjkim04: My proposal isn't just "list of flag bearers"; it's "List of [Year Season Olympics] [opening/closing] ceremony flag bearers". Essentially its almost exactly the same as the French model linked earlier (fr:Liste des porte-drapeaux à la cérémonie d'ouverture des Jeux olympiques d'été de 2020; (maybe that word order would be more natural in English too - i.e. List of flag bearers at the 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony). In the context of Olympic opening and closing ceremonies; the term "flag bearer" is unambiguous and also matches with usage in sources, ex. Olympics website from 2006 or from 2021, both of which have no mention of "Parade of Nations"; or coverage from individual nations or sports from respective news sources: Canada ("flag-bearers", but no "Parade of Nations"); athletics (no "Parade of Nations"); Tonga's shirtless flag bearer (in 2016; no mention of "Parade of Nations"); or in 2021 (which at least mentions it, but certainly not in the title, suggesting precedence of usage towards non-official designation: thus it would be in line with WP:COMMONNAME and WP:OFFICIALNAMES to use "List of flag bearers at X ceremony" and not "X ceremony - Parade of Nations" (in addition to more accurately identifying the subject).
