File's source

[edit]

@SNUGGUMS: My apologies about the caption. Silly mistake on my part and thank you for catching it. I'm unable to verify that this image is posted on Bergman's current Find the Grave page. The direct link still works, but there needs to be some way of verifying the file has been published per WP:NFCC#4 (WP:NFC#Meeting the previous publication critierion). Since you uploaded the file back in 2014, maybe the FTG page has been changed since then. FWIW, This 2018 archived version of the page does show the photo and attributes it as "Photo Added by A.J.". You probably don't know who A.J. is, right? Since sites like FTG seem to be mainly WP:UGC and don't really seem to do much vetting of the photos and other content they host, they're not always good sources for non-free images unless they're really attributed with a lot of detail. I've been trying to find the same image used somewhere else, but haven't had much luck. So, it might be better to use a different image, one whose provenance can be more clearly verified, for the main infobox. Perhaps there's one used in one of the sources cited in the article that could be used instead. As long as it's not an image attributed to Getty, AP or any other news agency/commerical photo agency, it should be OK to use per item 7 of WP:NFC#UUI per WP:F7. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:26, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct that I don't know who that A.J. person is. The Find A Grave page I found it from has also changed the main image since. In all fairness, I was much less experienced at the time of upload, and the pic seemed authentic to me when resembling what I saw of her in clips like this.
