Summary

Description
English: An animation of a structure within John von Neumann's 29-state cellular automata. A binary signal is passed around a blue wire loop repeatedly. The signal is also sent down a red wire and is decoded at the end, writing to the empty cell just beyond. This particular signal (1011) codes for a red arrow pointing right, extending the red wire by one cell each time.
