Summary

Description
English: Thornhill Square, Barnsbury Thornhill Square was built around 1847 and named after the landowning family. The gardens in the centre of this oval-shaped square were originally available to key-holders only, but were opened to the public by Captain Thornhill in 1946. The houses were originally occupied by professional people, but by the 1950s the area had become run-down. Since then, however, it has been improved dramatically with property now fetching high prices; a one-bedroom flat overlooking the square is currently on the market for about £320,000.
