1971 Iraq poison grain disaster

Portion used

All

Low resolution?

At just over 300 by 450 pixels, commercial reproduction would be almost impossible.

Purpose of use

To illustrate the language difficulties Iraqis had, the distinctive hue, and the fact that the grain had come from Mexico.

Replaceable?

Historically impossible; no other images have been found. Media was restricted by the Iraqi government during and after the crisis, with little state coverage.
