Description
English: Photograph taken at the University of San Francisco, Lone Mountain campus, showing the old church portal taken by William Randolph Hearst from Santa Maria de Ovila monastery in Spain. The portal was first built around 1650 in Trillo, Guadalajara, Spain, then removed and transported to San Francisco in 1931. It was rebuilt in 1965 at the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum, then donated to USF in 2002 and erected in 2008 as part of Kalmanovitz Hall, the backdrop to Ovila Amphitheater.
