Description
English: An aureole (site of contact metamorphism) between an igneous intrusion (above) and the surrounding sedimentary rock (below). The igneous rock is an outlying porphyritic granodiorite sill attached to the Henry Mountains laccolith, and the sedimentary rock is siltstone. The image shows approximately 3 vertical meters of rock. Located in the Henry Mountains, Utah, USA.
