English: The Lynden Department Store occupied this building, known as the Waples Building after the store's owner, from its construction in 1914 until 1976 when the store closed. Soon after, the building was divided into smaller stores and renamed Delft Square. In 2008, A fire later determined to be arson nearly destroyed the historic building but it remained structurally intact although losing its roof. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 as the Lynden Department Store and has since been fully restored as a boutique hotel.
