Description
English: Caricature showing the opening of the l'en:Armoire de fer. On the right, the worker Gamain who created this safe for the French king Louis XVI and who opens it during the Révolution for the ministre Roland on the left. The skeleton of Mirabeau get out the safe : the documents found in the safe show secret letters between Mirabeau and the royal family and will leave to get him out from the Panthéon. In a medalion above the door, the king Louis XVI is shown like a snake.
Français : Caricature montrant l'ouverture de l'fr:Armoire de fer. A droite se trouve l'ouvrier Gamain qui avait créé cette armoire pour Louis XVI et qui l'ouvre pendant la Révolution pour le ministre Roland qui est à gauche. Le squelette de Mirabeau sort de l'armoire : en effet, les documents trouvés dans l'armoire montreront une complicité entre Mirabeau et la famille royale et conduiront à son éviction du Panthéon. Dans un médaillon au dessus de la porte, le roi Louis XVI est représenté comme un serpent.
