Summary

Description
English: An informative plaque near a small memorial in a park in Rosario, Argentina, commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Armenian genocide (the killing of 1.5 million Armenians by the Turks, in 1915). The local Armenian immigrant community erected the memorial, which is located in a park zone beside the Paraná River. The plaque reads: "First genocide of the 20th century · Armenian community of Rosario · Monument in memory of the more than 1,500,000 Armenians killed in the first genocide of the 20th century. First by the hands of the Turk-Ottoman Empire and then of the State of Turkey, a large portion of the Armenians who had inhabited their lands for more than 2,000 years were systematically annihilated and deported to the four corners of the world. This is a homage to those who fell, to those who survived and to the generations that followed, defending the Armenian cause, promoting those values for today's generations and the ones who will come. On its 90th anniversary. · 1915–2005."
