Americobdella.jpg (512 × 384 pixels, file size: 148 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Description
English: This giant carnivorous leech, of the genus Americobdella native to southern Chile, feeds exclusively on earthworms which they suck in whole. Some specimens of this relict leech measure up to 30 cm. Its massive size and primitive anatomy suggest it represents an ancestral lineage of the Arhynchobdellid groups[1].]
