Summary

Description
English: Public realm sculpture in Allenton Shopping Centre, Derby. It reflects the nearby discovery of the remains of a Hippopotamus in the late 19th century. The sculpture was created by Michael Dan Archer and incorporates both laser scanned and modelled copies of the original bones. The skeleton of the Allenton Hippo is displayed in nearby Derby Museum.
